BJP is set to announce Dr. Pagadipati Devaiah, NRI doctor, as its candidate for Warangal Lok Sabha bypoll. Reports indicate that BJP Telangana unit recommended Devaiah's candidature on Monday to the national leadership. The BJP's national election committee is expected to ratify it.

The BJP has the support of TDP, its NDA partner. It is fielding the candidate in the Lok Sabha by-election. There would be a triangular contest between Congress, the TRS and NDA in the by-election.

The BJP state election committee member Yendala Lakshminarayana said,"The BJP state election committee met to discuss the candidature. We have sent our recommendation to the national committee."

Dr. Pagadipati Devaiah - NRI

Dr. Pagadipati Devaiah is a 69-year-old NRI, who is a medical doctor by profession. He is a qualified pediatric anesthesiologist from Harvard University moreover an entrepreneur. He is running software companies in Telangana and the US. If the party approves, Devaiah is expected to file his papers.
