Following the acquittal of former CM of Tamilnadu J Jayalithaa, her party AIADMK has been wanting her to take charge of the state. O Paneerselvam, the current chief minister of the state likely to quit for ensuring her position in the house. She may attend the Budget session as CM, since the session is not prorogued by Governor K Roshaiah.
The High Court of Karnataka has given clean chit on May 11, deferring the verdict of a Special Court on the disproportionate assets case. The public prosecutor, Subramanian Swamy and DMK leader K. Anbazhagan are reportedly planning to appeal the apex court separately.
The AIADMK legislature party meeting would be held on May 22 at the party headquarters in Chennai, where the supremo may be elected as the leader of the party. According to party release, all the 151 MLAs are directed to attend the meeting without fail.
