Most of us deligently follow a skin care routine. We all want to have healthy glowing skin. But some women in their over-enthusiasm make certain beauty mistakes. Applying too much moisturizer or using the wrong face mask can harm your skin instead of improving its health.
Following are some skincare mistakes that we tend to make in our day-to-day beauty care.

Moisturization

Apply the right moisturiser. If the moisturiser is right for your skin it shouldn't feel oily or greasy. Use a product with SPF during the day. For nights, use night creams as they provide heavy moisturization. Avoid moisturizing the skin around the eye region as they are very thin and tend to spot due to pore blockage.

Anti-aging creams

Use anti-aging creams at the right age when skin begins to show signs of aging. If you start using these products before they are needed, it would either be harmful for your skin or have no effect on the skin.

Exfoliating

Don't go overboard with exfoliation as it can cause skin irritation. Also exfoliating too often can make your skin greasy. Stay away from physical exfoliating scrubs as they contain uneven, sharp grains and can damage your skin. People with normal to oily skin need to exfoliate only twice in a week.

Sun protection

Wear a sunscreen during the day throughout the year as the sun is the greatest cause of wrinkles. The best bet is to wear a moisturiser with sunscreen.

Face masks

Choose your face masks based on your skin type. If your skin is dry and you apply a mask meant for oily skin, it will cause harm to your skin. Those with oily skin should opt for a clay-based mask or those which contains salicylic acid as an ingredient. Dry skin require masks which has hyaluronic acid or vitamin E in its ingredients as it moisturizes, nourishes and replenishes the skin.

Sleeping in makeup

Sleeping with your makeup on is the greatest skin care folly. It causes acne and enlarged pores. Consider makeup removal as cleansing of day's grime and dirt from your face.
