Enlarged skin pores is a common skin problem faced by most people at some time or the other. While people with oily skin face this problem quite often, those with dry skin are also affected by large pores. Besides skin pores also tend to get enlarged with age. Enlarged pores need to be taken care of as they make your skin appear rough and dull. Here are few tips to shrink pores.
Keep your skin clean
Keep your skin free from dirt, oil and bacteria. Cleanse your face regularly with an appropriate facewash or cleanser. Skin pores become large when they get clogged with dirt and oil, making them visible. But make sure you wash your face not more than two times in a day - once in the morning and once at night, before you go to sleep.
Apply ice cubes
Rubbing ice cubes along your pores after cleansing the face has a tightening effect. Gently run the ice cubes over your pores for 15 to 30 seconds to shrink pores.
Face scrub
Use a face scrub to remove dirt and dead skin as they tent to enlarge pores. Cleanse your face with a mild scrub once or twice in a week. Make sure that if you use a face scrub then you forgo the face wash as too much of washing would be harmful to the skin. Removing dead cells regularly will help to minimize pores to a great extent.
Yogurt mask
Yogurt has anti-bacterial properties that keep acne in check and reduces the appearance of pore size. Apply a thin layer of plain yogurt over your face. Keep it on for 5 to 10 minutes before washing it off. Follow this treatment once in a week to reduce the size of the pores.
Balanced diet
Above all eat a healthy diet that works for your body as well as skin. Include lean proteins, whole grains, omega-3 fatty acids and lots of fruits and vegetables in your daily diet. In case you have acne problem avoid excessive dairy products. Your body needs ample amount of vitamin A, vitamin C, and B-vitamins for healthy skin. Start with a healthy diet for radiant skin and smaller pores.
