Some men are a great hit among their female friends while others manage to get the attention of none. To get a girl's attention stop making cheesy one linery. Improve your appearance

This doesn't mean that you need to go for cosmetic surgeries. What I mean is that take care of your personal hygiene and clothes. Wear smart clothes that are clean, shave, take a bath and comb your hair. Women love men who take care of themselves so watch your nails. It's nice to smell good instead of reeking of sweat. Taking care of your appearance will definitely catch her attention.

Enrich yourself

To get her attention you should be able to talk on various topics. So develop interest in books, films (classics ones are more useful for the purpose) and the world events. When you meet her you can impress her with an interesting conversation.

Make eye contact

If you work in the same office you can make eye contact for a fleeting second. Remember, if the eye contact is too long she may pack off thinking you to be creepy. When you feel confident, you can walk upto her and talk.

Make her laugh

Women love men with a good sense of humour. So if you can make her laugh she will notice you. But make sure she laughs at the joke and not at you. The purpose is lost if you project yourself as a donkey to attract her attention.

Don’t let an awkward silence get into your conversations. You may be feeling insecure but this may be your only chance to impress her. So keep the conversation moving. Talk of anything - a funny story or an incident - to avoid an awkward silence.

Try and get her number and move out of the scene quickly. This will definitely gain her attention as she will be curious. Ask for her email and if she agrees to give it say 'please write it down'. When she is jotting it down say 'I have a lot of work to do, but I would really like to talk to you more.' Also say, 'And can you also jot down your number as well.' Once you have her number make an exit quickly. She will be curious for more and you have her number in your pocket.

Now you can take charge of the situation and plan for a date.
