Third test between India and Australia of four match Border-Gavaskar trophy ended in a draw. Australia scored 318 runs for 9 wickets and given bat to India after Lunch. India began its innings with a poor opening as Shikar Dhawan (0), Lokesh Rahul (1) and Murali Vijay (11) had not impressed at any stage of the innings as India score was 19/3 in Ninth over. Spectators decided Australia’s winning, but Kohli and Rahane played effectively as in the first innings and made strong partnership of 85 runs and ensured the match between India and Australia to a draw. Murali Vijay’s leg before wicket was a controversial in umpiring today, India refused to seek review.

Kohli made his half ton and Rahane scored 48 two short of fifty. India was not able to chase the target 384, fixed by Australia for 70 overs. Indias scored 174/6 till end of the day and match drawn. Ryan Harris was given Man of the Match title.

Surprisingly commentators announced that Indian Skipper Mahandra Singh Dhoni getting retired from Test cricket. BCCI announced on twitter saying Dhoni has retired from Test cricket with immediate effect. Dhoni has wonderful span of career in International cricket and led India to clinch many series’ including ODIs,Test Cricket, and T20 Matches.

Dhoni has played 90 matches, made 6 centuries and 33 half centuries. His best score in test innings is 224 runs and at an average of 38.09 scored 4876 runs in test cricket. Now Dhoni can be seen in ODIs and T20 format cricket only.
