The Hyundai Creta compact SUV was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 8.59 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Creta will be available in 10 variants with two diesels and one petrol engine option. The top-spec diesel is priced at Rs 13.60 lakh.
The Creta is available with three engine options - 1.6-litre VTVT petrol, 1.4-litre CRDi diesel and 1.6-litre CRDi VGT diesel. All the engines power the front wheels via six-speed manual transmission; while the top-end diesel also gets an optional six-speed AT from the Elantra. The petrol engine is rated at 121bhp and 151Nm of torque while the 1.4 diesel engine is good to produce 89bhp and 220Nm torque. The 1.6 litre CRDi diesel has segment-leading power figures at 125bhp and 260Nm.
