OpenAI announced a new subscription called ChatGPT Go on Tuesday, which is an affordable option compared to the current ChatGPT Plus. This plan was first launched in India and will soon be available in other areas. According to the company, ChatGPT Go allows users to send more messages, upload larger files, and generate more images. Additionally, users will have access to improved data analysis and a longer memory for more customized responses while chatting with the AI. OpenAI stated that the ChatGPT Go subscription will cost users in India Rs. 399 each month. This is much cheaper than the ChatGPT Plus subscription, which costs Rs. 1,999 a month. ChatGPT Go can be accessed on the web, iOS, Android, and desktop, but it is currently limited to users in India. The company indicated that Indian users will see prices in Indian Rupees (INR) and can pay for ChatGPT Go using a Credit Card or UPI. However, API usage is not included and will have separate charges.

To subscribe to ChatGPT Go:

- Sign in to ChatGPT on the web or mobile app.
- Click on the profile icon located in the bottom right corner and select Upgrade Plan.
- Next, click on the Try Go option and complete the payment using a Credit Card or UPI.

ChatGPT Go is a new and affordable subscription option that provides greater access to OpenAI's popular features compared to the free version. It offers everything included in the Free plan, but with higher limits. Users can send messages up to 10 times more frequently and generate a similar number of images and upload larger files. “Users have asked us to make ChatGPT more affordable! We are starting with Go in India and will gather feedback before launching in other locations,” Nick Turley, head of ChatGPT at OpenAI, mentioned in a statement. ChatGPT Go gives users access to the advanced GPT-5 model. They can create more images with improved image generation and can upload a larger variety of documents, spreadsheets, and other files for analysis. The new subscription also supports higher limits in Python and additional data analysis tools. Furthermore, ChatGPT will have a larger context window, which will help it remember conversations for longer, allowing for more individualized responses. Lastly, users can manage their projects, tasks, and custom GPTs to streamline their workflows, monitor their progress, and create personalized AI tools.

However, it does not include access to Sora, OpenAI's video-generation model, which comes with the ChatGPT Plus subscription. The plan also does not include the Codex agent, which helps with coding questions, runs code, and prepares pull requests on behalf of the user.
