The Telugu film industry is the biggest after Bollywood. Various Telugu folms dominated the Bollywood box-office and broke the barriers of Indian cinema. But Tollywood producers are struggling hard to make profits. The remuneration of stars were hiked like never before and this turned out to be a a major headache for the producers. The Active Producers Guild decided to stop the shoots and they received the support from the Film Chamber. All the shoots came to a stop from today. There are lot of debates and rumors about what happens next.
The first thing to be noticed is that there is no unity among the Tollywood producers. They have to come on to the common stand and discuss about the challenges. The early OTT release had a huge impact on the theatrical revenue. The audience are not much interested to watch the films in theatres. The producers also lost the production hold and the budgets are mounting. If the films are not faring well in theatres, the producer is losing a big amount. There is no clarity on when the strike would end and when the issues will be resolved. Some of the producers who launched their films will have to bear the interests and the other expenses. For now, Tollywood is left in confused state.
