Kannada star Yash's new movie Toxic, which is directed by Geetu Mohandas, has postponed its release date once more. Initially, it was set to premiere on June 4 but was delayed after avoiding a major confrontation with Dhurandhar: The Revenge on March 19. The producers announced that the release was moved back due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. On Wednesday, Yash provided an update stating the film will now launch on a "globally aligned date" since they were amazed by the "overwhelming global response" at CinemaCon. The message said, "There are movies we create, and then there are those that remind us why we love cinema. Toxic has been one of those experiences. Sharing our film at CinemaCon and seeing the massive global reaction confirmed our long-held belief that this movie needs to reach its maximum potential worldwide. " Yash assured that filming is finished and they are now organizing global distribution and collaborations.
"Toxic is done, and we are organizing global distribution and partnerships. Because of this, we have chosen to adjust our release schedule. Instead of coming out on June 4 as we previously planned, we will now release it on a later date that is in sync worldwide. Toxic will be in cinemas around the globe shortly," the message continued. "As Indian cinema is gaining recognition and making its mark globally with great potential, we each have a duty to elevate the standards. As an actor-producer, I view this moment as a chance to contribute to the Indian film industry and to all of us by taking the necessary time to ensure our film has the impact it is meant to create," Yash stated. "With every change, your support has remained with me, and I am deeply thankful for it. Some stories require patience. Some journeys necessitate it. We guarantee to provide you with a film that you can enjoy and celebrate—a film that will be a proud achievement for Indian cinema," the announcement said.
In a prior announcement, Yash stated that their aim was to connect with a worldwide audience and that they did not want the Iran-Israel conflict to hinder the enthusiasm of movie lovers everywhere. The statement said, "Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups is a project we envisioned to make cinema for audiences around the globe. Shot in Kannada and English, it is made with the intention of reaching viewers at home and internationally. After many years of hard work, we were thrilled to present our film to everyone on March 19th. " "However, the present instability, particularly in the Middle East, has created a situation that affects our aspirations to connect with the largest audience possible. Thus, for the sake of our partners and viewers, we have made the tough but thoughtful choice to postpone our release," it continued.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups is brought to life by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash through KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. Crafted and filmed in Kannada and English, it will also feature dubbed editions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the movie features an impressive cast that includes Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth.
