Got millions to spare? How about owning a home in a fantasyland – Disney World?
Cashing in on people's craze for theme parks, the Walt Disney Company have come up with a gated community called as Golden Oak for the Disneyphiles, where you can spend your whole life soaking up the Disney magic forever.
Spread across a sprawling 980 acres of land, the gated community has as many as 450 homes build at Lake Buena Vista — with some of the homes being close to the spectacular Cinderella Castle fireworks.
But then, like all things fancy, the delight of spending a lifetime in the vacation capital of Disneyland comes with a price tag, a hefty one at that. The houses are priced between a whopping $ 1.7 million to $ 7 million. Not just that, the homeowners will also need to shell out extras in the form of property taxes and annual fees of $ 12,000 to cover all benefits. A 100 homes have been sold so far.
But then, what's the price in front of the perks that living in Disneyland offers? The homeowners can avail park passes, door-to-park transportation, extended hours for visiting attractions such as the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, and a 17,000-square-foot clubhouse with a restaurant and concierge as their perks of having a home in the fantasyland.
Besides, the residents will also have access to other amenities like spa and dining rooms at the $370 million, 444-room Four Seasons resort scheduled to open in Golden Oak next summer.
