With the voting over in 4 key states of Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, it's prediction time now! And from what is being said, done and heard, seems it would be a sweet sweep for the saffron party.
According to the India Today-ORG exit poll report, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will trounce Congress hands down in all the four major states where voting concluded yesterday.
The survey predicts a 4-0 defeat for the Congress party in all the states. Considering a sample size of 3,000 to 4,500 voters in each state, the poll predicts BJP emerging as a clear winner. 'The only party predicted to buck the BJP trend is Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which the poll says will get six seats in the 70-member Delhi Assembly.'
In Delhi, the BJP will return to power after 15 long years, with the saffron party projected to cinch 41 seats against its current tally of 23. 'The Congress tally is set to fall to less than half its current 43.'
Another exit poll of just New Delhi constituency, where it's Sheila vs Kejriwal — puts the AAP trailblazer ahead of the chief minister, with a 36 per cent rating against her 31.
Quite interestingly, among those surveyed, rural voters are largely rooting for the BJP. In that case, chances of AAP and Congress relies largely on the urban constituencies. No wonder, both the parties have gone an extra mile in New Delhi constituency, where 64 per cent voting has been registered.
