Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal seems to have attracted the attention of Khap leaders and social activists in Haryana. According to reports, majority of the grassroot leaders (Khaps) are of the opinion that Kejriwal and AAP has changed the political equation in Haryana's rural as well as urban areas.

Disappointed, net-savvy youths of Haryana, who have been unhappy with widespread favoritism in the job market will be key to the success of AAP in the state, said Jogender Singh Saini, a Hisar-based activist. Besides, retired army personnel and student community can play a favorable role in AAP's prospects in Haryana, Saini added.

Sunil Jaglan, a young sarpanch from Bibipur village in Jind district said that till recently Narendra Modi, BJP's prime ministerial candidate, was the person in everyone's lips but the focus has shifted to AAP and Kejriwal now. Jaglan says that if the AAP leaders remain active and vigilant till the assembly polls in Haryana takes place (less than a year is left for assembly elections), then state politics will see a 100% change.

Om Prakash Dhankhar, Khap president of Dhankhar says that villagers have been talking of AAP and its potential to form the next government in Haryana. Ved Prakash Vidrohi, the former Congress spokesperson for Haryana, was of the opinion that AAP may get a foothold in Haryana's caste-ridden politics and also cause damage to Congress.

The clean image of AAP leaders has given hope to people of Haryana and will definitely impact upon the political equation in the State, said Baljeet Singh Malik, Gathwala Khap president. Infact the Valmiki and Baniya communities have already been influenced by AAP.
