Defence agents to be legalised representatives from foreign Defence firms which will be implemented by mid February, Defence minister Manohar Parrikar said. While speaking with journalists on Tuesday night that he said that the ministry is thinking to deal with Ban Company in limited way and that to on condition orders. Ban on has been removed to get Tatra trucks.
"Representatives from defence firms are already allowed in the Defence Procurement Policy. The problem is it does not say what is not acceptable, so changes will be made in DPP, representatives but commission and percentage will not be allowed Parrikar said”
The draft with change policy is ready and the final policy will ready within 8-10 days, it will go for the further proceeding before going to the union cabinet. The process will be completed within one and a half month but the agents who have banned will not be approved under the new arrangements, allowed but on condition.
Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) has been allowed to supply spare parts but as long as it does not deal with British subsidiary of the company, Limited NOC given to Tatra Trucks because we need them.
