Chief ministerial candidate of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP)DELHI Kiran Bedi of while campaigning for first time in the Muslim-dominated constituency of East Delhi’s ,she spoke about her 40 years in govt service to establish her credentials as a secular, pro-women candidate.
Right from the beginning of her road show Seelampur she is acknowledged the “Muslim brothers and sisters” who had “come to support” the BJP. She was focusing on turning her voice to Muslims.
“My Muslim brothers and Hindu brothers, in 40 years of service I have never discriminated against anyone. I have striven to get justice for all,” Bedi repeated this at various points of stops during the road show.
Ms. Kiran Bedi even had talked with women’s regarding the education for women, skill development and financial security. But there to “Muslim” preface went on.
“I want to educate my Muslim sisters. I want to give them skills to join the workforce. I want their daughters to grow up educated and be self-reliant. I want them to be like me,” she said.
When the caravan stops at on the road in front of a Jana Sabha organized for incumbent MLA Mateen Ahmad, then again she spoke about her heritage.
In an open challenge to Congress workers, she said that there is a need for a government that can work with the Centre, or else development will stop because of funding hassle.
