The Indian boxer from Manipur, Olympics bronze medalist MC Mary Kom has many reasons to celebrate in every angle. Recently when US President Barack Obama mentioned her and  praised by name and others athletes during the speech in Delhi.

On his visit to India, Barack Obama said that, “Indians and Americans are the most hardworking on the earth. People like Sharukh Khan, Milka Singh and Mc Marry com inspire people”.

She (Marry Kom) known to US President is the matter by which this nation should feel proud and especially Manipur “said Mary's private secretary Jimmy Leivon. He also said that he received many calls from the people and from her native village Kangthei, in the remote Churachandpur district.

According to the source, it is said that Marry felt happy being acknowledged by Obama.

The minute Obama took the name of Marry Kom Imphal people began to share this and some boys came out gave the sounds seen shouting 'Mary the great'. "Mary has made us proud and we wish her success at the Rio Olympics and other competitions," said a resident

Marry Kom is one among the nine personalities in the country to be invited by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for swatch Bharat Abhiyan or "Clean India Mission".
