Nearly 100 passengers were feared injured and multiple casualities suspected after the Ernakulam-Bangalore intercity express derailed at Anekal between Bangalore and Hosur. The accident reportedly took place around 7:30 am.

The Bangalore bound train’s 7th and 8th coaches were reportedly damaged and multiple causalities also suspected in the accident. About 7 ambulances from Tamil Nadu and 10 from Karnataka have been dispatched to tackle the emergency situation.

Local civilians and rescue team rushed to the spot and striving to save the lives.

Update: 5 fatalities were reported so far, the toll may increase. But,heightened assistance and rescuing operation may save many lives.
