The British health officials confirmed, three cases of Zika virus in the UK. Three British travelers have been infected with mosquito-borne disease, during their visit to Colombia.
According to the Public Health, England, They did not provide much information about the confirmed Zika Virus cases in the country, but the virus “does not occur naturally in the UK.” Officials said that, the Zika virus is not spread directly, from person to person, in the country. The government agency said that, "As of January 2016, three cases associated with travel to Colombia, Suriname and Guyana have been diagnosed in UK travelers."
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has advised pregnant women to avoid travel to Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, El Salvador, Guatemala, Suriname, Venezuela, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico and Paraguay. The CDC expanded the travel warning to include Bolivia, Ecuador, Barbados, Guyana, Cape Verde, Guadeloupe, Saint Martin and Samoa.
The virus is a mosquito borne disease. If an infected mosquito will bite an individual, then the person will be diagnosed with the Zika virus. Fever, joint pain, rash and red eyes are the symptoms of the virus. The symptoms can be noticed for a few days to about a week, while, there is no symptoms have been found in nearly 80% of the people who diagnosed with the virus.
