Anti-Trump protests continues on Boston streets

Thousands of anti- Trump protesters crowded through downtown Boston streets on Wednesday, chanting “Trump’s a racist” and “not my president,” with carrying signs that read “Impeach Trump.”

The protesters gathered on Boston Common around 7 PM before marching toward the Massachusetts State House, which had been decked up with its security that engaged a lot of extra police officers.

The protesters stopped on the steps of the State House before continuing through the city streets toward Copley Square.

The protest had  the largest of a series of anti-Trump actions in Boston on Wednesday though it had been boisterous and noisy but peaceful.

Elan Axelbank, protest organizer 21 years old, said that the long term goal is to build a sustainable movement of the majority of grassroots people who have not subscribed to what he called Trump’s racist ideas and who wanted less racism and inequality.

Axelbank  added, “He’s had a chance for about a year and a half on the campaign trail and I think he’s proven himself to be absolutely abominable,”.

Toya Chester, a fellow organizer said that she had not been surprised that a notice of the rally posted on Facebook after Tuesday’s returns fetched thousands of protesters.

Cheste  told, “People are angry. They’ve been angry. And it’s clear, you make a Facebook event at one o’clock in the morning and you have thousands of people that are ready to fight against Donald Trump”.
