BJP MPs and MLAs to submit their bank transaction from 8 November to 31 December to BJP President

In a master stroke in the Indian politics, Prime Minister Narendra Modi instructs his MPs and MLAs to submit their bank transaction from 8 November to 31 December to the BJP President Amit Shah.

However, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is dead against demonetisation has taken to Twitter and said that, “details of transactions made before six months of the announcement should also be revealed. Kejriwal, questioning the move, said account details of “PM Modi’s friends like Adani, Ambani and Paytm” should also be obtained.”

The PM's demonetisation decision was widely praised as audacious, has, however, earned criticism for flawed execution. There was not enough cash to replace the notes that were withdrawn which formed as much as 86% of the currency in circulation.

The move by the Prime Minister to his MPs and MLAs to submit their bank transaction records to party president has been hailed as a first step towards transparency in politics.
