A massive dusty storm swept across several parts o the western and Northern India, on Wednesday, which resulted to the killing of at least 75 people, in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, leaving a trail of destruction, uprooting hundreds of trees and power supply got disrupted, the same climatic symptoms were faced in parts of Punjab and Haryana as well.

As per the state records, authorities have confirmed the toll that at least 42 people were killed, in and around four districts of western Uttar Pradesh, majority of about 36 people were killed in Agra, three in Bijnore, two in Sharanpur, and other one in Bareilly.

The localities of Bharatpur suffered a lot with maximum damage in Rajasthan, in terms of loss of life as 12 people were killed in the district.

Another six people were killed in the neighboring Dholpur, with effect of high speed dust storm, that suddenly started around 7pm and wreaked havoc with huge disturbance, for two hours, four deaths were reported from Alwar and one each from Jhunjhunu and Bikaner.

The Damage caused by intemperate weather, has also killed at least 150 cattle in Agra, four in Pilibhit and two each in Muzaffarnagar and Ferozabad

The state authorities also said that they are assessing the total estimate of loss, and the death toll is also expected to be increased.

Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath in a tweet asked all his officials and all the district administrators, to provide relief operations to the victim families, “callousness in relief work will not be tolerated” The chief minster mentioned in his tweet.

Meanwhile the Chief Secretary Rajiv Kumar also has directed the District commissioner of Agra to take necessary steps, ensuring to have adequate relief is provided to all the effected people.

The weather department has alerted with a warning of thunderstorm, rain and gusty winds in more than twenty districts of the state.
