Two women applicants from Ambala were forced to answer the questions on their nationality as they were looking like citizens of Nepali. Santosh and Heena had approached the passport office in order to issue their passport and have also furnished the documents as instructed by the authorities.

A summary decision was passed that their passports cannot be issued with no documents being checked as they appeared like Nepali citizens. The two applicants met Anil Vij, Haryana Home Minister at his residence in order to voice their concerns about the matter. Vij immediately contacted Ashok Sharma, the Deputy Commissioner and asked him to address the concerns of the women who have been denied passports on such grounds.

The passports were issued to the women after Ashok Sharma has asked the passport officer to look into the documents. The passport officials have also been warned by the Deputy Commissioner that this issue should not get repeated.

The sisters expressed their gratitude and satisfaction for the action that has been taken by the administration and the Deputy commissioner.
