President Ram Nath Kovind Appoints Arvind Kejriwal as Delhi’s Chief Minister

Arvind Kejriwal has been appointed as the new Chief Minister of Delhi by the President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Friday. The Aam Aadmi Party which is led by Arvind Kejriwal has bagged 62 out of the 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly elections that had happened recently.

An official notification has been reported which says that the appointment of six other MLAs as ministers of the government of Delhi has also been done by the President Ram Nath Kovind following the advice of the newly appointed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The six other ministers who are said to be taking an oath along with Mr Arvind Kejriwal on the 16th of February are said to be Manish Sisodia, Satyender Jain, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Rajendra Gautam.

The notification has said that “The President has been pleased to appoint Shri Arvind Kejriwal to be the Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi with effect from the date he is sworn in.”

Another notification has said that the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal as chief minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi along with his council of ministers has also been accepted by the President with immediate effect.

It has also said that Arvind Kejriwal would continue as the chief minister until the new chief minister has sworn in.

In the Delhi polls, the Aam Admi Party has recorded a massive victory as it has won 62 out of the 72 seats while the Bharatiya Janata Party has bagged the remaining eight seats. The Congress party has not open its account and had drew blank for the second time in a row.

The newly elected Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi will be taking an oath on Sunday.
