NEET exam is scheduled to be held on September 13 nationwide for which Mamata Banerjee has lifted the lockdown in West Bengal from September 12.

The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), 2020 examination will be held on September 13. This is the biggest medical entrance exam in India with over 15 lakh aspirants.

Many petitions filed by the students across India have been dismissed and revoked by the Supreme Court in the last month. However, the circumstances are different considering the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, considering the importance of the NEET exam, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday withdrew the statewide lockdown on September 12 in view of the exam scheduled for the next day.

She said that the government has received numerous requests from the student community on lifting the lockdown on September 12 for easing the commuting for the students to go to their exam centers in time.

On Wednesday, the students federation of India urged the West Bengal government to withdraw the lockdown so that the students attending will not face any difficulties.

The Supreme Court ton Wednesday dismissed a fresh batch of petitions seeking postponement of the NEET exam.

Here are certain do’s and dont’s for the students attending the NEET exam:

• Candidates must bring NEET admit card and self-declaration form along with two passport size photographs.
• Candidates will be instructed by the authorities to wear a fresh mask before entering the exam hall therefore removing the previously worn mask.
• According to the dress code of NEET, candidates are not allowed to wear closed footwear, shoes or even heels. Students will be allowed to wear sandals and slippers.
• Candidates with specific attire for religious reasons should report to the authorities for mandatory frisking before going to the exam hall.
• Students coming from the containment zones can use their NEET 2020 admit card to be allowed to pass their zone.
• At the end of the test, candidates must hand over the admit card, OMR sheet to the examiner and must only carry the question booklet with them.
• Candidates will have to bring their own ball point pen and a hand sanitizer.
• All the examination centers and halls will be thoroughly sanitized before each slot of the exam.
• The centers will provide face masks, gloves, hand sanitizers and disinfectant sprays.
• Barcode readers will be made available at the entry point to scan the barcode present on the admit card.
• Rough sheets will be kept at the desks before the commencement of the exam by the invigilators who will be wearing gloves to ensure hygiene and safety.
