Top social media platform Facebook hid posts which are posted with the hashtag #ResignModi calling for the resignation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister has been facing the heat of the people as there is huge crisis in the vaccinations for coronavirus and people struggling for hospital beds and oxygen cylinders. All the hashtags that are posted with #ResignModi are temporarily hidden by Facebook. The social media platform said "some content in those posts goes against our Community Standards". The posts are hidden and it is unclear about the violated content as per the rules of a company.
Facebook hid these posts for more than three hours after which it allowed the users to find the posts with criticism. Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone told that they have blocked the hashtag by mistake and the Indian government has nothing much to do with this hashtag. Andy Stone said that the hashtag is restored soon. The Indian government last week ordered Twitter to block the tweets criticized Narendra Modi during the coronavirus pandemic. Facebook and Instagram blocked the posts about the Indian Prime Minister told the reports from The Wall Street Journal. The hashtag #ResignModi was hidden in India and some of the people shared the screenshots on twitter from other countries.
