Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his last interaction with the country announced a free vaccination drive for all the adults of the country from June 21st. The Centre will offer the vaccinations for the adults for free and the drive started today in the country. Narendra Modi's government was criticized because of the huge scarcity for vaccinations in the country when the wave of coronavirus is high in the country. Modi announced that the states would receive the vaccines for free and all the adults can get vaccinated for free. The state governments too made public statements that the Centre is not allocating enough number of doses of vaccines. The drive too is expected to get a boost starting from today as there are enough number of vaccine doses available in the country for now.

The vaccination process has been going on a partial note from the past few weeks. The Supreme Court slammed the Centre about the ongoing vaccination drive calling it irrational and arbitrary. The Centre announced that all the adults of the country will be vaccinated by the end of this year. The second wave of coronavirus too calmed down and the states are now reopened after weeks of lockdown. All the people aged above 18 years can take up the vaccination shot in a government facility available. The Centre will buy 75 percent of the total vaccines that are produced in India from the vaccination manufacturers and the states would receive them for free of cost. The registration on CoWin app is not mandatory. The prices for the vaccines that are purchased by the private hospitals will be finalized by the vaccine manufacturers.
