Maharashtra and New Delhi are the most impacted states of the country due to the Omicron variant and the spread is huge. The state governments also imposed several restrictions in these states. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is tested positive for coronavirus today and he said that he had mild symptoms. "I have tested positive for Covid. Mild symptoms. Have isolated myself at home. Those who came in touch wid me in last few days, kindly isolate urself and get urself tested" posted Arvind Kejriwal on his official Twitter page. Arvind Kejriwal is currently under self-isolation in his residence in Delhi.
Arvind Kejriwal has been spending a busy time campaigning in Punjab and Goa which are heading for polls soon. Arvind Kejriwal's AAP is keen to emerge as a strong party in these states. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that out of the 187 samples in the state, 152 had Omicron variant present which hints about the widespread of the new variant. 84 percent of the new samples are infected with the Omicron variant of coronavirus told the Health Minister. The positivity rate of New Delhi reached 6.5 percent and it is increasing on a regular basis. 202 patients are getting treated in various hospitals of the state told Jain. The national capital reported 4099 new cases of coronavirus in the state which is 28 percent more than Sunday.
