Indian students have been choosing various foreign countries to complete their medicine and other professional courses related to medicine even after several language barriers. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the private firms to enter into the field of medicine. He spoke at a webinar on the Union Budget announcements on health sector. Modi asked the state governments to formulate good politics so that the medical education gets huge investments and India can produce several doctors and paramedics. His remarks came after large number of Indian students have been pursuing medicine in Ukraine. Narendra Modi did not make any mention about Russia or Ukraine during his speech.

"Hundreds of billions of rupees is going away from the country after Indian students are going abroad for medicine studies. Language is a problem there but they are still going. Can the private sector enter into this field so that there would be big changes? Our state governments should frame good policies and allocate land for the same. Indian doctors have enhanced the prestige of the country across the globe in the past few decades with their work. The Indian government is working on 'One India One Health' so that the entire country will receive healthcare. The healthcare infrastructure should not be restricted to cities and towns" told Modi during his speech.
