Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi is tested positive for Covid-19 today. The Enforcement Directorate summoned Sonia Gandhi and she was asked to appear before the agency for investigation on June 8th. Days before this, Sonia Gandhi was tested positive for coronavirus. The Enforcement Directorate summoned her in relation to the money laundering case that is linked to the National Herald newspaper. Randeep Surjewala, the official spokesperson of Congress told that the result arrived today and her son Rahul Gandhi sought more time to appear before the ED for investigation as he is abroad. Rahul Gandhi has been asked to appear before ED today but Rahul was not available as he is abroad.

Sonia Gandhi is 75 years old and she suffered with health related issues months ago. She recovered well and Sonia Gandhi has been active in political meetings with the core team of the Congress leaders. She is even taking crucial decisions about the party. The official spokesperson said that Sonia Gandhi may not appear before the investigation as she needs to recover from Covid-19. "Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi has tested positive for Covid - 19. We wish for her speedy recovery and good health" told the official statement from the Congress party. After Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are issued summons, Congress called the case a political vendetta. The National Herald is published by Associated Journals Limited (AJL) and owned by Young Indian Pvt Limited.
