Hyderabad is about to get its first fake beach. The government of Telangana has given the green light for a plan to create a 35-acre beach at Kotwal Guda, located on the edge of the city. Building is anticipated to begin in December, with a projected cost of Rs 225 crore as part of a public-private collaboration. This beach will have a created lake to simulate a beach-like atmosphere. Officials indicate that it will offer much more than just sand and water. The project will include:

Floating homes and high-quality hotels for guests
Exciting activities like bungee jumping, sailing, skating, and winter sports
Family-friendly areas including parks, bike paths, and play areas
Relaxation and fun zones, featuring dining courts, cinemas, decorative fountains, and a wave pool.

The aim is to give people in Hyderabad a complete getaway experience without leaving the city. Kotwal Guda was selected for its closeness to the Outer Ring Road, which offers easy access and space for large developments. Officials have also stated that environmental protection will be a crucial aspect of the project, ensuring that it is built in an eco-friendly way. TSTDC Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy mentioned that the detailed project plan has been completed. International companies have already expressed interest in investing beyond the initial Rs 225 crore. Ramesh Reddy also said that Telangana has unexplored tourism opportunities worth over Rs 15,000 crore, including historic sites, forts, and eco-tourism locations. He noted that this artificial beach will be a flagship initiative aimed at placing Hyderabad on the international tourism map.

For many years, people from Hyderabad have gone to Suryalanka Beach in Andhra Pradesh to enjoy the ocean. Once finished, this artificial beach will let both locals and visitors take part in beach activities right in the city. It is expected to merge relaxation, excitement, and fun, making Hyderabad a new spot for weekends and tourism.
