Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown support for US President Donald Trump's new strategy to resolve the Gaza conflict. The Prime Minister remarked that Trump's 'Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict' offers a realistic route for achieving lasting peace for both Palestinians and Israelis. "We appreciate President Donald J. Trump's announcement of a detailed plan to end the Gaza conflict. It offers a realistic path to long-lasting peace, security, and growth for both the Palestinian and Israeli populations, as well as for the greater West Asian area," PM Modi mentioned in a message on X. "We hope that everyone involved will unite in support of President Trump’s initiative and contribute to this effort to end the violence and establish peace." Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have concurred on Washington's twenty-point proposal to resolve the Gaza conflict after discussions at the White House on Monday.

The proposal demands that all fighting stops immediately. Within seventy-two hours, Hamas must free all hostages, whether they are alive or deceased. Currently, the militants are reported to hold forty-eight captives, with Israel believing that twenty of them are still alive. In exchange, Israel would release two hundred fifty Palestinians who are serving life sentences and one thousand seven hundred detainees from Gaza since the start of the war, which would include all women and children. Israel would also return the bodies of fifteen Palestinians for every hostage body that is returned. The plan also calls for the withdrawal of Israeli forces, which would occur only after Hamas disarms and as international security forces move in to take over areas abandoned by Israeli troops. Israel would still keep a "security perimeter presence," a vague description that could imply the establishment of a buffer zone within Gaza. These conditions may face opposition from Hamas, which has stated it will not relinquish all its hostages unless it gets a "clear declaration" that the war will stop and Israel will fully withdraw from Gaza.

Hamas would not be allowed to govern Gaza, and all of its military facilities, including tunnels, would be dismantled. Those who agree to live in peace would be offered amnesty, and others wishing to leave Gaza would be permitted to do so. The international security force would be responsible for ensuring Hamas disarms and maintaining order. Additionally, it would train Palestinian police to take over law enforcement duties. The mediator, Egypt, has announced plans to train thousands of Palestinian police to deploy to Gaza. In the meantime, significant amounts of humanitarian aid would be permitted to enter Gaza, managed by "neutral international organizations," like the UN and the Red Crescent. It is uncertain whether the Gaza Humanitarian Fund, a controversial food distribution program supported by Israel and the U.S., will continue to function. The plan also clearly states that Palestinians will not be forced out of Gaza, and there will be a global effort to rebuild the area for the benefit of Palestinians.
