The allocation of the 'whistle' emblem for actor Vijay's TVK by the Election Commission has excited his fans and political supporters. This symbol connects well with his hugely successful 2019 film 'Bigil,' which translates to whistle and grossed about Rs 300 crore worldwide, boosting Vijay's career significantly. The movie, directed by Atlee, tells the story of a football player who abandons his dreams after his father is killed, but eventually becomes a coach for a women’s football team. It also features a well-known quote, "Cup Mukkiyam Bigilu" (Winning the cup is an important whistle). A member of Team Vijay remarked, "The whistle is very popular with fans and supporters of Vijay. This will resonate well with the public. We are pleased. "
The symbol also connects with another hit song 'Whistle Podu' from the film GOAT. A fan named Divyan commented, "On the field, a whistle is blown for foul play. This whistle symbol will help stop wrong actions. We will all act like whistleblowers. "

Vijay has a strong fan base with numerous young men and women backing him. He aspires to gain power by repeating the success of Anna Durai and MGR in 1966 and 1977. This news arrives as Vijay’s last film Jana Nayagan awaits release before Pongal, as it has not yet received approval from the Central Film Certification Board. The Madras High Court has not yet made a ruling. A CBI investigation is currently ongoing into the stampede at Vijay's rally in Karur last year that resulted in 41 deaths. Recently, Vijay was called for questioning twice at the CBI office in Delhi. While Vijay has expressed willingness to share power if he secures a good result in the upcoming elections, he has yet to gain support from any major party. The main Opposition party AIADMK and its partner the BJP are actively trying to persuade him to back the NDA. Vijay has labeled the ruling DMK as his political rival and the BJP as his ideological foe, ruling out any direct or indirect partnership with the BJP.
With Vijay dealing with issues concerning his film and being questioned by the CBI, the ruling DMK and its ally the Congress claim that the BJP is pressuring Vijay to support the NDA, which the BJP has denied. Currently, the ruling DMK, which has won three elections in a row, maintains its coalition. The AIADMK, having faced three consecutive losses, has resumed its partnership with the BJP. As it stands, the whistle faces the task of confronting the rising sun of the DMK and the two leaves of the AIADMK.
