Rahul Gandhi, the Opposition Leader in the Lok Sabha, made serious accusations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday and asserted that the "PM has been compromised. " Gandhi spoke to the press outside Parliament after being ignored as confusion persisted about the discussion on China and the memoir of former Army Chief Naravane. He expressed that the PM was anxious after signing the trade agreement under pressure and fears that it could tarnish his reputation. "Modi ji is feeling the heat. The (US-India) trade deal, which had been on hold for several months, was signed by Narendra Modi last night. He is under significant pressure. Narendra Modi ji’s image can suffer," Gandhi stated.

Gandhi was upset as he was not permitted to speak in Parliament while he brought up the China topic again for the second day during the Motion of Thanks to the President's speech. He was interrupted by the chair, which referred to a prior ruling and rule violations regarding his mention of an article on India-China relations. "The crucial issue is that our Prime Minister is compromised. The public must consider this. For the first time, the Leader of the Opposition was denied the chance to address the President's speech. Narendra Modi ji has traded your efforts in this trade agreement because he is compromised. He has betrayed the country," he continued. Gandhi also accused the PM of "selling the nation" and referred to the Epstein Files, which India has already dismissed. "Narendra Modi ji is frightened because the people who built his image are now ruining it.. . There is a case involving Adani ji in the US, which is essentially a case about Modi ji. . . The Epstein Files contain even more that the US has not shared yet. There is pressure from that as well. These are the two significant pressure points. The country should grasp this," Gandhi remarked.

Rahul Gandhi was alluding to reports from the Epstein files that mentioned PM Modi and his official trip to Israel. India dismissed these claims as unfounded and offensive. On January 31, a spokesperson from the Ministry of External Affairs stated that the government had noted an email supposedly linked to the Epstein files that referred to the Prime Minister’s visit to Israel. The spokesperson made it clear that while the Prime Minister did visit Israel officially in July 2017, all other implications in the email lacked any basis. The mentions of PM Modi in the files were solely about his official trip to Israel in July 2017.
