Bollywood stars glitter at IIFA 2014 Awards

The 15th episode of IIFA 2014 Awards was celebrated at a glittering ceremony at Tampa Bay, Florida, in United States. The gala event celebrated on Sunday saw a grand gathering of Bollywood stars and Hollywood stars like John Travolta and Kevin Spacey.

 

Formally known as International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA), the annual extravaganza was a star-studded event. Popular Bollywood actors like Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, Anil Kapoor and Shahid kapoor entertained the Indian diaspora and fans of Indian cinema from all over the world at the event.

 

The IIFA Award in Tampa became a memorable event with John Travolta and Kevin Spacey grooving to Bollywood numbers with Indian stars. John Travolta matched his steps to Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan, while Kevin Spacey grooved to the beats of "Lungi Dance", a popular song from the Bollywood film "Chennai Express."

 

This year's IIFA Award was special as veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha was awarded with Lifetime Achievement Award 2014 for his immense contribution to Hindi films. Shatrughan Sinha received the coveted award from his daughter and actress Sonakshi Sinha.

 

Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra’s 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' took away nine technical awards at IIFA Awards 2014.

Best Performance in a Comic Role Award: Arshad Warsi for 'Jolly LLB'

Best Performance in Negative role Award: Rishi Kapoor for 'D Day'

Best Male Playback Singer Award: Arijit Singh for ‘Tum Hi Ho’ from 'Aashiqui 2'

Best Female Playback Singer Award: Shreya Goshal for ‘ Sun Raha Hai Na Tu’ from 'Aashiqui 2'

Best Lyric Writer: Mithoon for 'Tum Hi Ho' from 'Aashiqui 2'
