Bollywood has a new hit! Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor's '2 States' has raked in Rs 76.3 crore at the domestic box-office in less than two weeks of its release.

While analysts are yet unsure about the film making into the Rs 100-crore club, there is little denying the universal applause that the film has garnered, despite lacking any big names.

Although directed by newcomer Abhishek Varman, 2 States was co-produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala, two of Bollywood's most successful film-makers. And a ready script based on author Chetan Bhagat's bestselling namesake novel added up as an icing to the cake.

Not to forget some fine performances by Alia, Arjun, Amrita Singh, Revathy, Ronit Roy and Shiv Vishvanathan, which got the audience to flock at the theaters.

Released across 2,400 screens on April 18, the movie drew full advantage of a festive weekend, with Good Friday and Easter falling around that time.
