On Monday, Spotify revealed its new price increase for users in India as well as in South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and some other areas. Customers will need to pay more to keep enjoying ad-free music, along with features like the ability to customize song queues, play tracks in any order, and enjoy improved streaming quality. The service mentioned that it will inform Spotify Premium users about the price hike through email. Spotify posted information about the price increase in a news update. Although it did not specify which countries will see the price rise, it indicated that the change will affect South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific regions.

According to Spotify, the price increase is meant to help them “continue to innovate” and provide a better listening experience for users. Current users will notice the new prices once their billing cycle ends. New subscribers will have to sign up at the new rates to access Spotify Premium services. Right now, the streaming service has four types of subscription plans: Individual, Duo, Family, and Student, and all of their prices have been raised. The Spotify app in India shows the updated prices now. The Individual plan, which used to be Rs. 119 per month, will now cost Rs. 139 monthly. The Duo and Family plans will be Rs. 179 and Rs. 229 per month, up from Rs. 149 and Rs. 179, respectively, before the increase. It’s important to note that both of these plans allow multiple users to share one Spotify Premium account.

The lowest option for streaming music on Spotify remains the Student plan, but it is only available to students who can provide a verified ID. This plan will now cost Rs. 69 per month instead of the previous Rs. 59 per month.
