Border 2, featuring Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, and Varun Dhawan, began its box office run with an impressive performance. The movie took advantage of the extended holiday weekend and passed the important Monday milestone successfully. Its total earnings in the domestic market reached ₹180 crore after Monday. As reported by the trade tracker Sacnilk, Border 2 made ₹59 crore on Monday, which is its highest daily earnings so far. It is also noted to be among the top earners for Republic Day. The film earned ₹30 crore on its first day. Earnings increased on Saturday to ₹36.5 crore. On Sunday, there was a significant increase of 49.32%, helping it easily enter the ₹100 crore club. Border 2 has already surpassed the opening weekend results of Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar.
Trade expert Taran Adarsh described the film's box office performance as "Tsunami. ""IT'S A TSUNAMI - 'Border 2' is smashing it at the box office. . . Last month, Dhurandhar and now, Border2 has brought happiness, hope, assurance, and positivity back to Bollywood. . . The numbers from Sunday are nothing short of AMAZING. Urban areas are doing extremely well, but the smaller towns are performing even better. . . In fact, the Tier-2 and Tier-3 areas are exceptional, with sold-out shows returning strongly across regions. THIS IS SIGNIFICANT. . . No amount of online chatter or social media negativity—before or after the release—has affected Border2's success at all."
