Less than a month ago, all seemed well between Jennifer Lopez and her toyboy dancer boyfriend Casper Smart who were seen walking in hand in hand at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards . So what went horribly wrong in their relationship now?

That the 44-year-old JLo and her 27-year-old boyfriend are no longer together have been making news since morning. So was the split a sudden one or there was a storm brewing underneath?

Sources say that their relationship fizzled out two weeks ago. Things have been rocky between the two for sometime now. And reports of Smart secretly sexting a transsexual woman he met on Instagram came as a last straw in their relationship.

Apparently, Jennifer did not trust Smart. “The relationship had not been right for a while. Smart was never going to be the love of her life, but he was fun and a nice guy to be around. It stopped being fun once his friendships with other people started to come to light."

But then, one cannot deny that their relationship had some positives too.

"Smart was a good distraction post-Marc [Anthony]. He was good to her. He was meant to be easy and fun, and when that was gone, she didn't want to be in the relationship anymore."

Our insider adds, "There is no one else. They will remain friends."

“It wasn’t an easy decision, but they decided to stay friends. Their relationship couldn’t work with the distance. He started trying to establish his own life and career, and she is so focused on hers, and they just couldn’t be all about each other anymore,” confirmed a close friend.
