Stars like Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Nicolas Cage and Matt Damon might be America's sweethearts and their 'starry presence' might be payed in millions, but they aren't in any way box office golds, no, not after the recent string of big-budget stinkers that have have landed these Hollywood's top-earners in Forbes list of “Most Overpaid Actors”.

Forbes' 2013 list of the most overpaid Hollywood actors, assembled using Box Office Mojo data combined with salary data found in its own annual Celebrity 100 list,ranks “Jack & Jill” and “That's My Boy” comedian Adam Sandler on top of the list, returning an average of $3.40 for every dollar he was paid.

Katherine Heigl, who starred in BO duds like "Killers" and "One for the Money," is placed slightly behind Sandler, returning an average of $3.50 per every dollar she earned.

Oscar winning actress Reese Witherspoon was placed third on the list, with an average return of $3.90 for every dollar she was paid.

Nicolas Cage came fourth, with a $6 average return, and comedian Kevin James was fifth, returning an average of $6.10.

Jennifer Aniston, despite doling out a hit like 'We're the Millers' ranks eighth in Forbes magazine’s list of stars who provide the least value for their huge fees.
