Alicia Rhett who starred as India Wilkes in "Gone with the Wind" died at the age of 98, in South Carolina. Alicia was the oldest surviving star of the 1939 movie that featured Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh in the lead role.
Rhett passed away at around 5 pm on Friday at the Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement Community in Charleston, said Kimberly Farfone Borts the spokeswoman of the community. According to The Associated Press, Rhett had lived at Gadsden since August 2002. The report said that Alicia Rhett was born on Febuary 1, 1915 in Georgia's Savannah. Borts, while talking about Rhett, revealed that she was a portrait painter who loved to sketch the portrait of her co-stars on the set.
In 'Gone with the Wind' India Wilkes is Ashley Wilkes' cousin. Scarlett O'Hara deeply loved Ashley before he gets married to India. Later Scarlett and Rhett Butler becomes involved as the movie progresses.
