Steve Carell is all set to star and produce cancer drama 'Priority List'. The film will be based on a memoir by David Menasche.

The rights to produce a film on David Menasche book "Priority List: A Teacher’s Final Quest to Discover Life’s Greatest Lessons" has been acquired by Warner Bros.

Menasche's memoir was published by Touchstone in January 2014.

Menasche's memoir deals about his fight against brain cancer. In 2006 David Menasche was diagnosed with brain cancer and told by doctors that he had only a few months of life. At that time Menasche was a Miami high school teacher. However, Menasche went through several surgeries and chemo therapy and extended his life. But in 2012 he suffered a seizure that ended his teaching career.

After that Menasche started on a journey to meet his former students that involved traveling the length and breadth of the country. The journey helped him to deal with his illness and helped him to cope with his present life.

David Menasche is still alive.
