Scott Derrickson has signed with Marvel Studios to direct their next film 'Doctor Strange'. Derrickson will helm the superhero movie, whose lead character was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1963, titled "Strange Tales" No. 110.
The film revolves around the character Doctor Strange, who is a former neurosurgeon and serves as the Sorcerer Supreme. He has been given the role of primary protector of Earth against mystical and magical threats.
The character of Doctor Strange first appeared in the Marvel Universe 50 years ago, in 1963. He was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in their Strange Tales No.110.
Marvel studio is working hard to launch the project on Doctor Strange. The studio is also in the look out for a scriptwriter for Doctor Strange. Jon Aibel and Glenn Berger are being contemplated for the task.
