Kylie Minogue is set to return to big screen with Dwayne Johnson Starrer 'San Andreas 3D'. The pop star has been cast in a supporting role in the earthquake action movie.

The big-budget project will be directed by Brad Peyton. Beau Flynn and Village Roadshow will produce the movie.

Mingoue's role in the film has not been revealed yet.

The New Line disaster movie stars Dwayne Johnson and Carla Gugino. The script involves "the Big One" striking California. It forces a special-ops firefighter (Johnson) and his ex-wife (Gugino) to travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco inorder to rescue their daughter. They make the treacherous journey to the earthquake hit region.

Currently the film is being shot on the Gold Coast of Australia.

The initial draft of the project were written by Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore. While the recent drafts on the screenplay has been contributed by Allan Loeb, Carlton Cuse and Chad and Carey Hayes.

Mingoue, who is an Australian singer-songwriter, is known to be selective in doing films. Her most notable appearance was in Baz Luhrmann's 'Moulin Rouge'. Apparently, the pop singer is also likely to contribute to the soundtrack of San Andreas.
