The 22-year old Paulina Vega, a student of business administration from Barranquilla, Colombia was crowned the Miss Universe title on Sunday during the 63rd Annual Miss Universe Pageant at Florida International University on January 25, 2015 in Miami, Florida

Paulina Vega became the second beauty queen from Colombia after Luz Marina Zuluaga who won it 1958. The first runner-up was Miss USA Nia Sanchez, followed by Miss Ukraine Diana Harkusha.

Though miss Colombia bagged the title, social media was more concerned with the fate of Miss Jamaica - Kaci Fennell, as many audiences and viewers have decide her winning by watching at her boldness, skills and beauty.

"I don't have long tresses like everyone else. I'm just representing myself, and that's what beauty pageants are all about," said Fennell.

India’s Noyonita Lodh failed to make it to the top 10 contestants. The last time an Indian crowned Miss Universe title was Bollywood actress Lara Dutta in the year 2000.
