Southwest Airlines Co. are preparing to offer non stop flights that would connect Hawaii to multiple California cities, including San Jose and Oakland. It also confirmed that within Hawaii it will fly inter-island routes, though it is ill defined about its being.
After regulatory approvals, the airlines would start their nonstop services to four Hawaii Islands: Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Big Island of Hawaii along with Sacramento and San Diego International airports.
Tom Nealson, Southwest Airlines President said, “The way we plan to serve Hawaii requires us to share these initial details now so that our facilities in the airports will be ready for all that we intend to offer.”
As of now, Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines offer multiple flights connecting San Jose and Hawaii destinations.
“We are so thrilled about this. For us it shows how Southwest has real focus on our airport. They are increasing facilities at San jose, putting more staff there. Southwest is making a huge commitment to San jose.
