NRI pilgrims to Amarnath to have special registration facility

Amarnath Yatra for non-resident Indians (NRI) will become easier this year. NRI pilgrims can now avail of a special registration facility for the annual Amarnath pilgrimage that begins from June 28 this year.

Naveen Choudhary, CEO of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) stated that in view of a sizable number of NRI pilgrims visiting the holy shrine, the board has established a special registration facility.  

The yatra, which starts from June 28 and lasts till August 10, is a  44-day annual pilgrimage to  south Kashmir which houses the cave shrine of Lord Shiva in the Himalayas. An NRI pilgrim will have to submit scanned copies of filled Application Form, scanned photographand a Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC).

The Yatra Permit can be collected from Punjab National Bank (PNB) at Jammu or Srinagar at the designated branch, which pilgrims would indicate in the Application form. Completed scanned forms have to be emailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Besides, a  Registration Fee of Rs 500 has to be  deposited at the designated PNB branch.
