On Wednesday, officials announced that the Amarnath Yatra is on hold for both the Pahalgam and Baltal paths because of heavy rainfall in Kashmir, according to a high-ranking officer. The Department of Information and Public Relations in Jammu and Kashmir shared on its X platform that "Shri Amarnathji Yatra has been halted for 30.07.2025 starting from both Pahalgam and Baltal base areas." Divisional Commissioner for Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, mentioned that due to substantial rain since early Wednesday morning, the pilgrimage is not permitted on the roads from Baltal and Nunwan/Chandanwari base camps.

To date, over 3.93 lakh devotees have visited the sacred cave shrine. The pilgrimage will stay suspended from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp on Thursday. The DIPR stated, “Because of the severe rainfall in the pilgrimage area, the flow of pilgrims from the base camps has been disrupted. Therefore, it has been determined that no convoys will be permitted to head towards the base camps, Baltal and Nunwan, from Bhagwati Nagar Jammu on July 31, 2025.”
