Anthony Thomas, Vodafone India's chief information officer (CIO) has reportedly put his papers to pursue other opportunities. The Economic Times posted the news referring to two people directly familiar with the developments. However, both of them were reportedly requested for obscurity.
The news comes ahead the expiry of $1-billion outsourcing contract of Vodafone with International Business Machines (IBM). According to the people familiar with the developments, the talks are underway for the renewal of the current deal.
An internal mail was sent to Vodafone employees confirming Thomas's exit from the company. The company did not reveal the replacement for Thomas as the new CIO.
Vodafone mail said, "Anthony Thomas, chief information officer, India, has decided to pursue career opportunities outside Vodafone. His last day at Vodafone will be September 15, 2015.” A spokesperson of Vodafone declined to comment on this at this point.

In April 2012, Thomas joined Vodafone as CIO and played a major role in creating a new centralized IT structure with Vodafone during his tenure. Vodafone also rolled out several new technology initiatives, which includes microfinancing service m-pesa and a new data warehouse.
Earlier, Thomas served at companies like Citigroup, Ernst & Young and Intelligroup Inc.
