Donating blood is an act of life-saving generosity, about 5 million people in America need blood transfusion. Donating blood is good for the health of donors as well as those who need it.
Blood Donating reduced the risk of cancer and hemochromatosis. The risk of damage to liver and pancreas decreases. Blood donation may help in improving cardiovascular health and reducing obesity.
Blood Donations also reduced the risk of heart attack. According to studies a regular donor, who donates regularly over the years have an 88% lower risk of heart attack.
After donating blood, our body works to replenish the blood loss. This stimulates the production of new blood cells and in turn helps in maintaining good health.
After donating blood a person has to wait for at least 8 weeks for whole blood donations and at least 16 weeks for power red donations.
People suffering from any disorders are requested to avoid donations.
A Donor’s age must be between 18-60 and weight more than 45kgs to be able to donate blood.
