The cricket legend has created many records in one day and test cricket events with highest runs, centuries and half centuries, but he still feels regret about his short span of captaincy role in two terms.

In his 24 years of cricketing life he absolutely served the team and nation at higher levels, for which he was awarded the highest civilian award in India Bharat Ratna in 2014, besides many the government and cricket associations.

The master blaster first took over the responsibility of the team in1996, but poor performance by the team forced him to get down in 1997. He said that captain will decide the important areas, but the players have to do their batting and bowling at their own towards the decided areas.

He was dropped from the leadership in just 12-13 months in first time, where he is feeling unhappy, since the short span cannot ensure the progress immediately.

“My tenure was not long enough and it was a big disappointment for me to overcome," Tendulkar said.

The little master, was again given the leadership responsibility during the India's Test tours of 2011 to England and Australia.

In his captaincy, India played 25 matches, in which India won just 4 and drawn 12 matches the percentage of victorie is just 16% only.

While, in ODI India played 73 matches in his captaincy. India won just 23 and lost 43 matches, the winning percentage is 31.50 only.

Though captaincy is the duty of leading the team in successful manner, entire team has to come on track with proper understanding and perfection in play.
